Biography & Stats
Bio: (Last Updated: 10/20/2006 - Originally created 8/25/2005)
My name is Johnny Crow. I was born in a small town called Stanton, TX. Population around 2,000. I grew up there until I was four, when my mother left my father and we all moved out west to Las Vegas, NV. I flew back and forth every year between Nevada and Texas getting a dose of both small town etiquette and Big City Diversity. I grew up faster than it was good for me. After living with my father for a few years in my early teens, I was kicked out and sent to my mothers. I made my home here in Las Vegas.
In my Senior year of high school (Chaparral) My parents up and moved everything to Florida to the defunct town of Okeechobee, FL. I saved every penny I had and moved out on my own, back to Las Vegas. Homeless and jobless I enrolled myself in High school, forging documents, saying I had both a home and a guardian. Toward the middle of the year my secret was found out; Before I could get kicked out, I dropped out and moved to Rapid City, SD for a short stint and quickly moved back to my parents in Florida. Despising Florida as much as I did, and gaining 160 pounds from it, I saved up and again moved back to Las Vegas only after receiving my High School Diploma from a local community college.
I moved to Texas for a little while, to help myself and my sister out. I focused on a lot of my goals, both personally and physically. I lost 90+ lbs on my own. I figured out some shit and have slowly worked toward my goals in life. As of recently, I finally enrolled myself into college, though it has been tough working 50-60 hrs a week. I may have to put it on hold again, until later. I achieved one of my main goals and that was to get paid as a writer, and I love it more than ever.
I have worked for many companies over my travels from being a door to door salesman, to a telephone psychic, an ISP tech support, then my last jobs have been Managing Mailrooms/Shipping departments. I am currently a staff writer for an auction house. I get to write, which is part of my dream, and I get to see some cool shit in the process . My real dream is to own a Cafe, to write a book, and to be a fulltime author. Unless I become a teacher in which case I will settle for a part time author. It would be cool to live (or just visit for a while) in a foreign country.
I have been involved with computers since I was 10, starting out on a Unix Mainframe and then at school with an old Mac. Later in 1995 I owned my very first computer a brand new Pentium 100mhz with a whopping 1gb HD, and a 28.8bit modem. I ruled!
I have built websites since 1999 or thereabouts. I created many of my own and friends websites, and later in 2002 I got contracted to do a political website for a friend. Although he didn't win his election, the site was still good, and I created a Webdesign Company from that called Renegade Designs. I only ran it for 2 years but it was a good run. The last webwork I did was redesigning and fixing my previous employers website. For now I am out of the game, except personal things like my blogs and such.
In early 2004 I created my first of many blogs. I currently write and maintain it daily, I use it to vent and to record the past, but also hopefully improve my writing skills. I currently am working on a novel, though slow, It is still coming out day to day. In the past I have written poetry, prose and short stories. I was published once for a poem in Jr. High, but beyond that I was only a small writer for a now defunct online magazine called Asylum Monthly. In recent events, I have become a staff writer for an auction house, one step closer to a full fledged writing career.
I am a decent cook, and will cook for you if I have the right ingredients. I learned most of my cooking from my mother and grandmother, and a lot more from the food network with shows like Good Eats and Iron Chef.
I currently live in the lesser Las Vegas area with one of my best friends, Tommy. We share a condo in Summerlin in which I keep a large amount of books, DVD's, as my friend tells me "more clothes than most women" he knows (he doesn't know many lol, j/k).
I have recently found the love of my life, right in front of me. We have known each other since Freshman year of highschool. Kelly M., she has been a true friend this whole time and we have only recently realized how good we are together and that we love each other depper than anyone could imagine. We truly are connected souls. We are now engaged to be married, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her. I hope to be the best husband, father, and lover I can be. We intend to get married in a Hindu ceremony, sometime next year or early 2008. If you would like to know more about how lovely a person she is, please check out her own blog, or her myspace page.

Political Leanings: Anarchist who really wants to get along "Taoist" style but will blow your head off if it comes to survival; hates neoconservatives, and pacifistic liberals. More of a revolutionary type with leanings to both sides, or "middle of the road" kinda guy.
Religious Affiliation: Agnostic leaning towards atheist pragmatism; Despise organized/brainwashing religion, and support self empowerment. I understand the want and need for faith, but also know the power of science. People need to understand that religion and science should not fight each other, they should re-affirm each other. Both Einstein and Newton were religious, and both saw the beauty in how the world worked. The idea is to let science explain life, and let faith or whatever you want to call it, help guide you in difficult situations. Do not rely on it, for it becomes a crutch. Rather use it like any other psychological tool (i.e. placebo et al.)
